Restarting my Mac didn’t work - so I shut my Mac down completely. WD Drive Manager throughout the struggle reported that the new drive was working okay however.Īfter several attempts, during which time the new drive disappeared off my desktop, I tried re-starting my Mac. Kept saying “Unmounting disk - MediaKit reports not enough space on device for requested operation. After copying the Mac software on it to my Desktop, I tried to use Disk Utility to re-initialise it as HFS+ Extended (journaled) same as my internal drive. Yesterday I received a brand new 12TB My Book Duo. Worked for me once, albeit some years ago now. Unplug everything from the wall socket and count to 30. Have you tried using Disk Utility to repair it, or at least check it over?
